Well, hello there! Happy Thursday! I hope you are all having a great week! I have another new quick and easy card to share with you today featuring one of the NEW Happy Grams 4 stamps! I really love this one because it is just so cheerful and happy. I originally drew it as just a little doodle that I shared online. I had several friends chime in and ask for it as a stamp. I am always happy to oblige when I can, so here it is!
This card is a quick one. The base is a simple cream cardstock card. The second layer is a colorful plaid on white cardstock that I created using my Gingham Two Step Stencil with Distress Inks and a foam ink blending tool. I added a vellum layer over the plaid to give it a softer look. I find that a vellum layer helps keep the background from competing for the focus while still letting it show through. The top layer of the card is the image stamped on white cardstock and colored with Copic Markers.
I added Bitty Posies die cut from Ranger’s Mixed Media cardstock and lightly brushed with Distress Ink using a foam ink blending tool. I brushed each posey with Tonic’s Nuvo Shimmer Brush Pen to give it a soft sparkle. I created posey centers by using embossing powder from Emerald Creek to color plain brads. I finished off the card with a strip of grosgrain ribbon and some quick machine stitching.
One thing that helps make this cards so quick, is that I color brads for posie centers in batches so that they are ready to go when I want to make a quick project. I also do my posies in batches. I keep them ready to go in little bins just as if they were store-bought embellishments. When I want to spend time making but don’t have a specific project in mind, I do this type of prep work. It satisfies my need to be crafty and helps me have handmade embellishments ready to go when inspiration strikes!
