There are a few things you probably already know about me; I love sewing on just about anything, I love creating with ink, and I love everything vintage! If I get a chance to combine all of those things into one it is a pretty good day!
I am also addicted to making what I call “spool books“. They are all long strips of quilted fabric wrapped and stored on a large wooden vintage spool. They are embellished with a variety of stamps, inks, stencils, die cuts, and assortment embellishments both old and new.
I created a new spool book this week that features some of my collection of vintage molded plastic buttons. I styled it after crazy quilts and old-fashioned samplers. I used stencils from StencilGirl Products to give the plain fabric a pieced fabric look.
You can see the full step-by-step tutorial for how to create the stenciled quilt on the StencilGirl Talk blog today here: Stencil Quilting.
I hope you will stop by and check it out!
