Happy Wednesday friends! I thought I would pop in mid-week to share a little does of happy! Last month at CHA (now AFCI) I was asked if I could describe my collection and samples in one word. I didn’t even have to think about it, I said “Happy”. More than anything, when people use my stamps or look at what I create with them, I hope they see “happy” too.
Today’s card features the Posie Parts stamp and die set. I adore how versatile this set is. You can use just the dies like I shared on the Die Cut Felt Planner Clips, use just the stamps (you’ll see an example of that soon), or combine both like today’s card.
The card is a basic A2 cut from cream cardstock. I cut a fun orange polka dot pattern paper (Echo Park) to fit. I added a vellum layer over the pattern paper to help mute the orange a bit so that the background wouldn’t compete with the center focus. Next I added machine stitching around the edge of the vellum to secure it in place and add a little visual interest.
I die cut a waterfall (Waterfall One set) from cream cardstock. I cut the top of the waterfall off right below the second score line. I love that it can be used as a cute scallop card. I stamped and colored four flowers and two leaves. I stacked the two matching flowers together with adhesive foam tape. I placed a jumbo brad (I *think* these are from Bazzill) through the center of the one double and two single flowers. I adhered all three flowers and the two leaves to the center of the waterfall card. I used alphabet stamps to add a sentiment. Added two tiny brads at the top two corners of the waterfall card and then adhered the assembled piece to the center front of the card.
This little card was so quick and simple and so totally cheery and happy! After I made it I kept it on my desk for several days because it made me smile. It sparked a love for clean and simple cards for me and inspired all the other cards I made for the show after it. I hope it makes you smile as much as it did me!
