I did something a little outside my box yesterday and although it was tough learning something new I feel awfully proud. Over the years, I have done a ton of tutorials and that has always meant taking, editing, and posting tons of photos. Lots of readers have asked me to consider doing video tutorials. I have done a few videos here and there but it has never been my comfort zone.
I don’t pre-plan projects, so videos of projects are hard to do. I realized though that small bite-sized technique tutorials would be perfect for video. I vowed that 2017 would be the year I finally got over my fears and jumped into doing videos. It took me until June, but I did it!
This quick video shows how to create this quick and easy background. It is perfect for cards, tags, and journal pages. It features my NEW Polka Hearts stencil from StencilGirl, PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Paints, and Ranger Ink’s Texture Paste.
Take a look and see how easy this background is to create!
The great thing about this background is that it is fast and so versatile. It is interesting without competing with the focus of your card. That is a key element of a great background- interesting but not overpowering. You want it to compliment without competing.
Now that I have taken the video plunge I am already thinking about what to record next. I will definitely be creating more videos featuring my stencils and favorite techniques. If there are things you would like to see don’t hesitate to leave me a comment and let me know!
