Hey there! I am checking back in today with another card featuring one of my new winter/holiday stamps. This stamp is one of the new 3D Shading Stamps from Spellbinders. This new group of stamps includes a special engraving technique that allows an image to to stamp both a full bold line and a shaded lighter area from the same ink. I used this new option to add shading to lettering on several of my new release stamps. It is great for those who love a shadow on their letters but aren’t sure where to add them when coloring.
I am currently obsessed with gingham and polka dots. I love any pattern papers with them because they can be used for any season or occasion. They are timeless.
To create this card, I layered the following pieces:
- Card Base: 4 1/4″ x 11″, folded in half to create a side fold 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ card.
- Pattern Paper (brown gingham): 5 1/4″ w x 4″ h
- Border 1 (silver cardstock): 5 1/4″ w x 1 3/8″ h
- Border 2 (red polka dots): 5 1/4″ w x 1 1/8″ h
- Vellum: 4″w x 3 1/8″ h
- Stamped Image: 3 5/8″ w x 2 7/8″ h
I also added a strip of red and silver ribbon with a small simple bow. I brushed the edges of each piece with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink using an ink blending tool.
For the stamped image, I stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock. I colored the stamped image with assorted colors of Copic Markers. I added shimmer to the letter shadows and the snowflakes with a Clear Wink of Stella Brush Marker.
I know I keep saying that each design is one of my most favorites yet, but yes, this one too is a favorite! Like the Cold Hands stamp, I love that it is good for the whole winter season and not just the holidays!
Be sure to ask your favorite local or online store to see if they will be getting the collection. It is also available online in Spellbinder’s online shop. I will be back tomorrow with another project from the collection. I hope you will check it out!
