Happy Tuesday friends! I am so excited to share something really special with you today. Late last year I started daydreaming about offering a monthly stitchery pattern series. I wanted the blocks to celebrate my love of what I call “heartfelt words” and sweet things like embellished hearts, posies, buttons, ribbons, and beads. Every pattern in the series is full of dimension and layers! I also wanted to create patterns that work with my dies so that if you had my dies you could incorporate them into your project. The patterns include all the pieces you need, but if you have my dies, your cutting will be quicker and easier!
Today is my birthday and it seems like the perfect time to finally kick off this series and show the first block to you!
Each month the pattern will feature a layered heart. The embellished hearts include things like buttons, beads, ribbons, and trim. I include a supply list with all the products and colors I used so you can create your heart exactly like mine. However, I urge you to change it up and make the colors or fabrics to make each block your own.
Speaking of fabrics, I will stitch all of my blocks in wool but the pattern is suitable for cotton prints also.
I’ve spelled out the heartfelt words using handmade buttons from Just Another Button Company. The stitchery pattern includes an embroidery version of the word for those wishing to stitch their words instead of the buttons.
Because each heart fits inside an 8″ block, the complete series could be used in a quilt. They are also great to use on pillows, to frame, or to add to a banner (as shown). Oh and that banner… it is a free pattern that is coming soon! I will post with more details as soon as it is ready.
I am simply in love with this stitchery pattern series and can not wait to stitch and share each one with you!
Do you want to stitch along with me? The Grace block stitchery pattern is available now in my stitchery pattern shop. It is a pdf pattern download: Heartfelt: Grace pattern.
