Happy Grams 4 week continues today with another cute and quick card. This one combines so many things I love- coloring, stenciling, stamping, and die cutting! Not to mention gingham, bees, posies, and hearts! It is like a perfect recipe for cuteness!
This card starts off with a basic cream cardstock card base. The second layer is white cardstock with a gingham pattern created with my Gingham Two Step Stencil and two shades of yellow Distress Ink. I adhered the stenciled layer to the card base and added a simple machine stitched border to add a little texture.
For the next layer, I stamped the new Notebook Border on white cardstock. I added a stamped sentiment from the new Sentiments 1 set on the notebook image. I colored it all with Copic markers and cut it out along the edge of the notebook image.
Tip- I used a small hole punch to punch out the holes along the top of the notebook image. The rest of the image is just curvy lines that are easy to cut out.
I embellished the notebook layer with a pink heart die cut with the Prim Hearts die from wool felt. I added Bitty Posies on top of the hearts. I colored the posies with Distress Ink. I created flower centers by dipping brands in embossing powder from Emerald Creek. I added a bit of green embossing powder the ferns to added texture and a punch of color.
I added a die cut bee using the Bee Any Sweeter stamp and die set. The bee comes with several different layers that you can add, but I kept this one simple with one single layer. I colored him with Copic Markers and used a white gel pen to add white to his eyes. I snipped off the antennae on the bee and replaced it with a snippet of silver floral wire so that I could shape them.
I used adhesive foam to pop the bee up from the layers below him. I think lifting that layer up really helps to make it the focus of the card.
I really love how so many pieces of this collection work together. It is fun being able to mix and match them to create so many combinations!
I will be back tomorrow with my monthly Button Lover’s Club tutorial. I hope you will stop back by to see the fun that the Buttoneers have for September!
