I have fallen in love with quick and easy cards that let the thought and sentiment really shine. My favorite formula is a bit of gingham, a few posies, and a fun sentiment. Oh, and a bit of sewing, I can’t forget the stitching!
The more cards I make, the more I discovered that I really wanted some smaller sentiment stamps that I could use in a variety of ways. That is the fun part of designing products, I can make what it is that I want to craft with. The hard part is waiting! We work on stamps 6-12 months in advance, so when you draw something you really love you have to learn to be very patient!
For this card, I started with a plain card base made from cream cardstock. I cut a piece of brown gingham paper (Echo Park) to fit on the front of the card. After adhering it, I added a line of machine stitching around the edge of the paper.
I die cut two single leaves and six posie layers from wool felt with my Pom Pom Posies die. The flowers are so easy to assemble, layer them, poke a hole through the center, place a jumbo brad through the hole. Easy peasy.
I adhered the posies to the front of the card along with a small scrap of ribbon and a straight pin.
Tip- Therm O Web’s Mixed Media Adhesive (linked below) is excellent for adhering fabric flowers like these to paper.
I die cut a Deco Edge Envelope from pink polka dot paper (Echo Park). The little pocket is super cute from two-sided paper like this one. The die includes a small enclosure card that I die cut from cream cardstock. I used on of my new Tiny Sentiments stamps on the card.
Isn’t it fun how the Tiny Sentiments fit on the card? The stamps fit on all the insert cards from my mini envelopes and on the cover and pages of my Mini Tag Book.
I clipped the card to the envelope and layered the two on the posies. It is simple and sweet and sure to make someone smile when receiving it!
I’m taking Sunday off, but I’ll be back on Monday with another stencil project and video. I hope you will come back by and check it out!
Super cute!
