I love making banners as foundations for my appliqué and stitchery projects. Banners make a great canvas for projects because they are easy to display in a number of ways. You can display them on wire stands or on hanging dowels or metal hangers. When I kicked off my Heartfelt monthly series, I knew that I wanted to display each month’s block on a banner on a Ackfeld Wire stand that fit perfectly on a table in my studio. Since Ackfeld Wire is a go-to source for quilt and stitchery displays, I thought other’s might enjoy and be able to use a banner pattern that would fit their popular 12″ x 14″ stands and 12″ hangers.
Banner Pattern Details:
I love a nice decorative edge on banners so that they have a little style on their own. Since I love scallops, I added a large scallop border to this banner.
I designed this banner so that it would hang below and hide the lower cross-bar. The pattern is super easy to adjust if you prefer your banner a little longer or shorter.
I designed the rod pocket so that it would fill the space above the hanging bar. You can easily borrow from that space to accommodate a wider hanging bar or dowel on a different hanger.
Ackfeld’s 12″ wooden dowels also fit this banner so you can choose from a wide choice of hanging options.
Maybe the best part of this banner pattern is that it is FREE to download. You can find it in my stitchery shop here: Tammy Tutterow Stitchery Pattern Shop. While you are there, I hope you will take a look at the other patterns I offer.
I have so many fun new things coming to the shop soon! If you would like to be notified of new patterns and other free pattern and projects downloads, please consider signing up for my email newsletter. I would love to keep you in the loop with what is next!
