Happy Monday friends! I am excited to kick off a week of sharing with you highlighting my new Happy Grams 4 collection. First up today, a fun little dimensional card featuring the Bee Any Sweeter stamp and die set.
The base of this card is a simple cream cardstock card. The next layer is a white cardstock layer with stenciling using my Posie Parade Two-Step Stencil. I used an ink blending tool with Distress Inks to add the sweet posies. I added a vellum layer over the stenciled layer to help soften and diffuse the stenciling and add a visual break.
The next layer features the stamped image. I stamped it with black Memento ink and colored it with assorted Copic Markers.
The fun thing about this set is that the dies that come with the stamp break down several elements of the bee. It lets you create lots of layers.
To add a bit of fun and texture, I used Therm O Web’s Mixed Media Sheets to create sheer wings. The sheets are a fun and unique surface to work with. It is almost like textured vellum that is tough and durable. It takes stamping and inking wonderfully. I added a bit of sparkle by brushing over the wings with a Nuvo Shimmer Brush Pen.
Above the wings, I added a second image of the bee popped up with adhesive foam. I like to color the base layer the same as the popped up layer so that all angles look finished.
I am partial of course, but I sure think this little stamp and die set is such a cutie!
And a super fun thing, the dies in this set have every element of the bee- the whole outer shape, the wings, the body, and the stripes. You can use them without the stamp to create a bee- perfect for paper piecing and appliqué! Want to see how the bee looks in felted wool?
